Our Customers Say It Best
To: People looking for exceptionally fine construction and general contractors “In the spring of 2010 my husband and I were contemplating a full kitchen remodel as our old St. Charles cabinets and 1970’s flooring needed to be updated. We spent time doing our research, checked out various show rooms and even went to the home show. After seeking out various companies and bids we settled on Anderson and Hammack. Upon meeting Terry, Brad and the gang we felt confident in our choice. Upfront and clear costs, quality workmanship, attention to detail and customer service are all aspects we value and received from Anderson and Hammack. Upon receiving the quote we were impressed with the itemized document clearly explaining costs and the breakdown for each category. Everything was upfront and shared with us before the project started. Brad was willing to meet with us as many times as necessary for whatever reason, be it picking out cabinetry, tweaking an aspect of the design or checking in with the progress. Once the project started we could count on skilled tradesmen working efficiently with an eye for detail. Everything from flooring, lighting, plumbing and cabinetry were installed with quality and care. We love our new kitchen! Thank you Anderson and Hammack!”
“Terry and Gang, I have been meaning to drop a line to say “thank you” for a job well done! We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of or remodel – mostly thanks to you all. Every one of your employees demonstrated professionalism in their craft, and were extremely flexible along the way, when many challenges of remodeling cropped up. They listened to us, as a “customer” and took our wishes into consideration when adding this or that, or changing our minds on the original design. The job did present several challenges as you know. A special “shout out” to Bobby and Beau for all of their hard work early on. They worked hard through several design issues, and were able to conquer them all in the end. Another thing we really appreciated was the care they took when demo-ing parts of the original home, as we were able to save and re-purpose most of our oak woodwork, doors, and fixtures. And to Phil, Scott, and the crew near the end of the project—-you all came through and worked tirelessly to see our project finished before the Big Wedding Day in the Johnson home. The woodwork and cabinetry install was flawless. Thank you for making adjustments and working with us for the desired result. And to Tony and gang—the deck is the envy of the neighborhood. That was another example of your company’s flexibility—pulling a team of guys together in the 11th hour and constructing a deck just in time for our pre-wedding company. Talk about meeting a deadline! I think I had 10 minutes to spare after the last worker left the site, before my company arrived. And, Terry, thank you for your understanding with many things: change orders, the plumber and electrician not keeping schedule, and for your open communication (and sense of humor) during the entire project. It was good to know that I could call you at any time, and you would answer. That is really important to ensuring that the Johnson’s were happy with the end result. We really enjoyed working with all of you in 2013, and look forward to bumping into you in the future sometime. Again, all of you, we can’t thank you enough for the beautiful “new” home and lots of great family memories to come (in it.)” Happy Holidays!
“Terry and his team at Anderson & Hammack Construction Co., did a tremendous job with refinishing my fireplace. I felt very comfortable after meeting Terry and reviewing what ideas he had planned for my fireplace. I am extremely pleased and would recommend them in a minute. Their high quality workmanship, professionalism and punctual scheduling made working with them easy and comforting. Being in a Construction field myself, it is a pleasure to find reputable firms that are committed to doing what they say they are going to do. All work was completed in the same time-frame as originally explained and the quality was exactly what I expected. (and I\’m pretty particular about quality and details) Upon meeting Terry, I felt his enthusiasm and appreciation for the piece which made me comfortable and excited to have found someone who loves their work. Terry and his team scheduled time-table:(unlike the cable guy\’s time-frame of 9AM-6PM) these guys are on the ball. Their high quality workmanship showed in their work quick, clean and neat. For the quality of work they produce, I find their prices extremely reasonable and it was certainly money well spent. I strongly recommend Anderson & Hammack Const. Co. to all who are looking to have their homes or projects taken care of.”
“To Whom It May Concern, I highly recommend Anderson and Hammack Construction Company whether the job is small or large. Their craftsman skills are first rate and they take great pride in their work. I really appreciate the way they returned my phone calls and answered my many questions. Their crew did not smoke anywhere on my property and they always cleaned up each day. If something unexpected came up they were on it immediately. I was also impressed by their problem solving skills. I would be happy to answer any questions a potential customer might have.”
“Dear Anderson and Hammack, Thank you so much for your help in building our new sunroom addition. Although we chose to hire some of our own subcontractors and were very specific about the details of our project, your company was always easy to work with and coordinated with the other contractors in a collaborative manner. Mark, Terry, Nick, your carpenters and specialty people, as well as Deb in the office, were all wonderful to Marcie and me, and each person clearly took pride in their work. We selected Anderson and Hammack because you were recommended highly by past customers and by other people in the trades. We also found your company to be competitively priced even though our project was small compared to most of your other jobs. Our addition turned out exactly the way we had hoped and we appreciated the way you shared in our excitement during the construction process. Thanks again – we are very happy with our new space!”
“We stumbled across Anderson & Hammack. It was a 2003 serendipitous event for us because we wanted to build our “dream log home”. Without Mark and Terry it could have been a nightmare. We had lived in a log home and we had architect blueprints for our new home. Beyond that we were clueless about building a big, new log home here in the North Country. Anderson & Hammack had log home building experience and that was fortunate for everyone because there are a lot of ways to do log homes wrong. They got started with our project in late 2003 and we moved into the place in early 2005. Anyone who has built a home knows how many stories there are to tell and how the journey from start to finish is never a straight line. The thing to note is that Anderson & Hammack avoided bad pitfalls and kept us out of some major traps. You can see our project by clicking here. General contractors are supposed to do the navigation to completion so as to get the client there with as little harm as possible. Well, it’s been five years now and the real story of Mark and Terry’s professionalism has become crystal clear to us. No matter how experienced you are there is no guarantee that everything in a new home will work as expected/designed. This is even more so in a log home, a home, for example, with walls that shrink six inches due to natural log shrinkage. In the last five years we’ve had our share of interesting problems. The absolutely GREAT THING is that Anderson & Hammack stayed with us and resolved these issues as they arose. For them each problem was an opportunity to practice their way of doing business, serving their clients in a completely fair manner that benefits all concerned. To say that Mark, Terry and everyone at Anderson & Hammack have promoted goodwill with us is putting it mildly. They are our friends now and will remain so for years to come. I can recommend Anderson & Hammack to anyone who needs totally honest and reliable contractors who can handle just about any building, remodeling and rebuilding project.”
“Just recently, this excellent company completed a renovation to our home, an old-fashioned Victorian with incredible woodwork, wood floors, built-in bookcases, Tiffany lamps, stained-glass windows, etc. They installed a new staircase to the basement, converted existing floor space into a main floor bed and bathroom, handicapped ramps front and back, hookups for main floor laundry, basement lighting and a decorative piece to cover the 2×4’s supporting a brand-new double oven, which a friend had installed. Several factors cause this company to stand out. Communication is a real asset to this company. We were informed every step along the way. Of the three companies we solicited bids from, theirs was the first to follow up. A precise, itemized list detailing the work to be done was provided. When surprises were encountered, we were consistently involved in the decisions needing to be made. Since we were working within the confines of a special government grant, every cost-saving option was explored and implemented. Extra care was taken to minimize dust and even prevent potential lung problems by having the doors stained elsewhere. The paint they used was nearly undetectable in its aroma. Their expertise in matching the existing woodwork is unmatched. The clean-up provided at the end of each day was much appreciated. No smoking was allowed on site. The workers were courteous in a way that I didn’t anticipate. I lost track of the times they would open the zippers if I was trying to get through with full hands. They were professional, not using the language I half expected. And the extra materials which were not used were mine to keep. Their patience while waiting for the government to recompense them was laudatory. Finally, they were always willing to answer questions I had regarding home renovations. I would recommend Anderson Hammack Construction to anyone in a heartbeat, and plan on using them for future projects.”
“Dear Mark, Brad, and Crew of Anderson & Hammack Construction; Just a quick word of “Thank You Extremely Much!” Before I get started, excuse me my typo’s. I/m a pastor, not a typist. Also, forgive the length of time I took to put this together. I wanted to testify how the new construction would “Take” with my old house. It’s holding up great after almost year. The ramps are great, the new shower-room is terrific, all the plumbing is top-notch, and all the work is holding up well. My grape vine is even coming back! I thought it was a necessary and worthy sacrifice for a wheelchair ramp, but it’s flooding back. Cool. Guys, if anyone asks you for references, direct them to my house. I’ll be only too glad to not only tell them about the excellence of your work and how you treated my wife, with much patience and respect, but also show them around. I love the balloon window in the shower-room. It’s such a cool feature. It gets commented on a lot. You also impressed me with your efforts at dust control. It was hardly an issue. That, and the lengths you went to in order to protect my hardwood floors. Thank you. Not only did your work look good, it still does, and it’s wearing well. The shiny stuff is still shiny, the paint is still on the walls, and the screws are still holding things up. I apologize for my delay, but I thought a testimony after a little time would better reflect the quality of work done than if I’d written my appreciation immediately after work ended. Succinctly, I am an ARMY veteran who is 100% permanently and totally disabled. I live half of life in a wheelchair. Whenever I’m outside, I need to have one close at hand, as I can permanently on morphine and other painkillers just so I can function. It is my doctors’ estimations that, due to your efforts, my life has been extended. I no longer have to do the things that put me at risk. Holly and I promised you a cook-out. We are planning for it in early October, when it’s still nice, the apples will have been harvested, and I can safely be at a cook fire. I love fire, grilling, tunes, good drink, all that jazz. Call me next week, and we’ll set a date. Until then…A very grateful veteran. (God says He’s glad to still have a pastor to work with)”
